Revolution, like many businesses during this time, has had to adapt and adjust their business model. Typically, Deep Wood releases would have a big party on the Friday of the release. With the pandemic shutting down the taproom and closing the brewpub until further notice, those parties will not happen for the foreseeable future. But they were still planned in advance. Marty Scott (head barrel dude and #1 Van Halen fan) had some special things lined up for them. So in order to not have the beer just sitting in barrels or kegs, Revolution decided to crowler them off and sell them. Form of the Destructor was one of those recently released.

Round 3 of Revolution’s Deep Wood 2020 pulls into the station! This drop features three brews that Revolution has released before, some more recent than others. There’s a little more variety here, as the previous two rounds featured only stouts, while this one brings a stout and two barleywines. Let’s get hammered!

Brad Clark should be a name that rings a bell. I’m pretty sure you’re familiar with Jackie O’s, for which he was head brewer and director of brewing operations since 2005 (basically the beginning of Jackie O’s). He recently left, but there was no animosity in the split – Clark simply wanted to be closer to his then fiancé (now wife) Adair Paterno (of Sante Adairius Rustic Ales). Naturally, he decided to start a new brewery called Private Press.
